A “central organization” can add or subtract subordinates annually from the group of organizations it certifies to the IRS as qualified for exempt status
The group exemption process offers a simple and inexpensive way to obtain recognition for a group of organizations under the supervision or control of a parent entity. Although it has minor disadvantages, its benefits usually outweigh the problems.
