A teacher for a nonprofit charter school in Chicago has been permitted to proceed with his claims for wrongful termination after he reported an assault on a student in the boys’ locker room prior to gym class. The federal District Court in Chicago has denied a motion by the school for summary judgment to dismiss the case. The incident arose in November 2009. David Corral taught a gym class of 25-30 students, both boys and girls, who sat on the gym floor when they first arrived while he took attendance.
