Court dismisses Title VII, whistleblower claims against “board members”
A federal District Court in Illinois has dismissed Title VII and whistleblower claims against two organizational “board members” of a Catholic school but allowed the case to continue against the school itself and its principal. Dianne Nowaczyk, an administrator of Joliet Catholic Academy, sued the Congregation of the Third Order of St. Francis of Mary Immaculate, the Society of Mt. Carmel of Illinois, the academy and Jeffry Budz, its principal. She claimed that she complained to Budz that a male employee was making inappropriate comments about women.
