IRS Muses on Internet Issues for Nonprofits
Continuing education text says most current rules will be extended but offers little specific guidance on emerging issues
Charities should not be scared away from using the Internet to raise money merely because of uncertainty about the IRS's ultimate position on income from the web. Its positions clearly will be based on an extension of present law, and attorneys should be able to make reasonable estimates of the risks. Unless you are extraordinarily successful, even if some of your income is deemed unrelated, it should not jeopardize the status of the organization.
